A Glimpse to Open spans 33 years of poetry in the life of American (but Norman-French by lineage), lesbian poetess and writer Danielle Sainte-Marie. It is a book meant to help open a reader to what it is like to live poetically; it is a glimpse of actively seeking and/or serendipitously finding, the mystical experience of being human. Filled with poetry, quotes she has written throughout her amazing life and even an essay on what poetry means to her, A Glimpse to Open is truly a book worth living with for many, many years.
As she once remarked, “When one has mystical experience, one no longer needs faith in the mystical.”

Running in Circles Tablerunner/Centerpiece By Shelley Sidle Use ‘H’ hook, a tapestry needle to join circles, and worsted (4) yarn- like superwash wool or Caron Simply Soft in whatever colors you choose- you could mix colors, or do it all in one color or whatever, be creative! Make about 1 Extra-large circle, and 8 each of Large, Medium and Small circles Small circle- Round 1: Ch 2, and sc 8 times into the 2nd ch from hk. Join to 1st sc with sl st. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in 1st sc, 2 dc in each sc, sl st w/ 3rd ch. Fasten off, weave in ends. Medium circle- Round 1: Ch 2, and sc 8 times into the 2nd ch from hk. Join to 1st sc with sl st. Round 2: Ch 4, *dc in next sc, ch1 *, rep from * to * 7 times, join w/ sl st to 3rd ch of ch 3 Round 3: Ch 5, *dc in ch 1 space, ch1, dc in dc, ch 1*, rep from * to * around, join w/ sl st in 3rd ch. Cool Yarn Bombs stolen

In Baltimore, near their convention center entrance, yarn bombers put up these really beautiful peacock and spider-web-looking yarn covers, and half of them were stolen. How sad for the people who put hours of crocheting into them! But thankfully they captured it on camera, and hopefully lots of people got to check 'em out before someone made off with them.
